Five things I love about Fall

  1. Stunning fall foliage!

2. Comfortable walking weather – saw this cute kitty out just enjoying the soft sounds of the brooke in the trails in our neighbourhood.

3. Halloween – I mentioned in the post yesterday, we don’t get a lot of kids here as most are like ours and have grown up. I bought some candy to give out and had about 15 kids come around. The world series game 6 may have gotten in the way.

4. Renaissance, I find fall can be the start of new beginnings, changeovers. With new school years, with new season of TV shows, I used to look forward to fall as a kid too.

5. Cozy – it’s cooler so we can also start turning on our fireplace to get a bit toasty. Not so much into pumpkin latte, but do like pumpkin pie!

What do you like about fall?

I live in Florida, so I kind of have a variation on your fall loves. We don’t get the colorful foliage, but November is the month where our weather starts to cool down to a comfortable level. We still have the AC on most days, but we still pretend that it’s cozy season. I agree that fall feels like a new beginning, with the start of the school year.

I live in Nova Scotia (and yes, I am still depressed about the Jay’s defeat) and I LOVE fall. Everything is absolutely beautiful here this time of year. The foliage. The ocean. I just love it. Plus, all the flavours that come with fall – stews and apple desserts and pumpkin everything. Sign me up!

Comfortable walking weather FTW! On weekdays, I take my walk in the morning before work, but on weekends we try go for a family walk. That can get dicey with the urge to sleep in being in direct opposition to the urge to not melt. So this time of year is VERY welcome.

  4. I agree with everything but Halloween. I couldn’t care less to be honest. Maybe add smells for me: apple and cinnamon, mushrooms and wet leaves, tea and biscuits.

Fall is probably my favorite time of year here in Northern California, mainly because we still get a decent amount of warm, sunny days, but also some foliage change and cozy, rainy days! 🙂

I love fall, too, even though I don’t get the stunning fall foliage. I need to make it my mission to visit a more fall-like city every October so I can see the stunning colors in person!
