On writing and fitness

“Writing is like going on a journey in your mind”… a loose translation of a quote I heard in French while “duo-lingo-ing” this morning.

It is isn’t it!?

My mind goes endlessly everywhere when I sit down to write something, even just contemplating what to write about -pathways and destinations limitless.

On today’s journey I’m physically going somewhere too.

I’m sitting in a subway car riding down to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre downtown for the Canfitpro conference, the annual event focussed on all things fitness. The last time I went was in 2019 and it was love -meeting my fitness instructor friends, participants, fitness celebrities. It was a huge high for me. But I have not been since Covid and I no longer teach a class.

I signed up this year and did the LesMills Dance/ Bodyjam experience last night. Ecstatic and sweaty during the dance-sore and a little hobbly afterwards when I got home.

Such is life at 60. But there was a Foo Fighters track in Jam !! Totally worth going overboard as close to cardiac arrest as I’m willing to go.

Back at it for Bodycombat today.

Back for my high

Happy journeys to you this Saturday.

This is the incredible Rachael Newsham all the way from New Zealand she’s a Bodyjam LMdance and Bodycombat guru

I wish I didn’t feel so wobbly these days! Not out of balance but stiff. Poop. Anyway, glad you went and had such a great time!
